Construction Surveyor
Rhode Island & Southeastern Massachusetts
Overview:
Catalano Construction, Inc. an established Site Excavation & Utility Contractor seeks highly motivated and qualified candidates for a position as a Construction Surveyor for work across Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts.
Responsibilities:
Provide project layout and construction surveying for field
Maintain as-built progress documents and be responsible for final as-built deliverables
Oversee & manage earthwork bulk cut/fill excavation to grade
Assist with Cut/Fill Earthwork Modeling & Takeoff with Estimating Team
Create & maintain CAD project model for use with GPS surveying equipment and GPS machine control
Work with project superintendents and foremen
Use drone technology to assist with site coordination and progress tracking
Strive to integrate current technologies in project workflow
Requirements:
Position requires 3+ years of Earthwork, Underground Utilities, and Road experience (Survey License not required);
4+ years of Construction Surveying
Knowledge of construction layout, survey calculations, and data collection
Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D or equivalent
Experience with GPS Base Station / Rover (Topcon / Trimble)
Heavy civil construction experience
OSHA 10 (at minimum)
Valid Driver’s License
Ability to work as a one-person crew utilizing robotic and GPS equipment
Ability to read & understand Contract Drawings & Specifications
Strong ability to multi-task, and handle multiple projects at once
Excellent written & communication skills
Rhode Island and/or Massachusetts Professional Land Surveyor License (PLS) is a plus
